Based on its strong regulatory science expertise, the National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS) organized a 5-day training program aimed at strengthening the regulatory capacity of biopharmaceutical authorities in the Asia-Pacific region. The program welcomed participants from eight countries — Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam — and included site visits to key institutions such as the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Osong, the Korean Red Cross Plasma Fractionation Center in Eumseong, the GC Biopharma Hwasun Plant, and the Vaccine Center for Assisting Safety & Technology. The program provided comprehensive training on national lot release systems for vaccines and blood products, along with practical laboratory sessions on biopharmaceutical quality control.
